With beautiful weather year round, of course you want to be outside to enjoy it, but sometimes you feel guilty going out and having all the fun while your pup is stuck inside. I totally get it, that’s why I decided to explore the best spots in Santa Clarita for you and your dog to be able to enjoy the great outdoors together!
First stop on my list was Central Park. If you haven’t already been here, then you’ve probably heard about it. This is the most popular dog park, in my personal opinion, in Santa Clarita. It’s located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road and also contains sports fields, picnic areas, and a playground! Central Bark has two sections, one for small dogs 25 pounds and under, and another one for larger dogs in case your pooch is frightened by large dogs. The one downside about this park is that if you have a grass lover, you’re out of luck because there’s no grass in the doggie areas. There are a lot of trees for shade though, which for me, is very important especially in the hot summer!
Next on my list was Copper Hill Dog Park. Although this park is beautiful, it is not for dogs who don’t do well off-leash with no fence due to its open concept and proximity to a main road. If that isn’t an issue for your furry friend then they can enjoy the open space with beautiful green grass. As for the dog owners, if you like to enjoy the shade while watching your pup play, this also might not be the right park for you.
The third stop was Five Knolls Dog Park. I love this park for many reasons, a few of which being the great features it offers. Everytime I have been to this park it is super clean and well maintained. There are two sections, one for all dogs and one for smaller pups. Along with umbrellas to provide shade, there are also scenic views to enjoy while your dog enjoys playing. The actual dog area is made up of dirt and artificial grass, so you have the best of both worlds.
Last, but certainly not least: Canine Country. Even though this park is a little trickier to find than the others, it is definitely worth it! Being surrounded by activities like a pool and a skate park, this area has so much to offer. There’s a few trees for shade and is overall just a nice area to spend an afternoon.
